Thomas J. Rassi, Sr., 92, of Middlebury, died 8:08 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006, at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, Michigan, on December 1, 1914, to Frank and Mary (Truex) Rassi. He married Doris Woods on August 26, 1950, in Milford, Indiana. She survives. A resident of the area since 1926, Mr. Rassi had lived in his home on CR 22 for 56 years. He retired from Chase Bag Company in 1979 after 43 years where he worked in maintenance. Mr. Rassi was a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Church in Middlebury. He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Winifred “Teddy” Catapano of Mishawaka, Indiana and Cynthia (Jeff) Henline of Goshen; five sons, Thomas, Jr. (Erleen) Rassi of San Diego, California, Charles (Cheryl) Rassi of Goshen, Timothy (Jacque) Rassi of Michigan City, Indiana, and Terry Rassi and Rick (Barbara) Rassi, both of Middlebury, Indiana. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a sister, Florence Hahn of Millcreek, Indiana and two brothers, Harold (Doris) Rassi of South Bend, Indiana and Ralph Rassi of Marcellus, Michigan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Marie Rassi in 1952, four brothers, Leonard, Vern, Raymond, and Lloyd Rassi and two sisters, Della Talkington and Viola Bontrager. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 24, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen on Tuesday, December 26.
