Theresa A. Copenhaver, 88, of Huntington and formerly of Goshen, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Anne Community at Victory Noll.
She was born March 20, 1934 in Goshen to Samuel J., Jr. and Agnes Leona (Grise) Haines.
On January 16, 1954 she married Richard Copenhaver at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen. He died October 9, 2021.
Survivors include two daughters, Monica (Kelvin) Detwiler and Angela (Michael) Hein, both of Goshen; three sons, Richard “Rick” (Irene) Copenhaver of Granger, Mark (Doris) Copenhaver and James (Stephanie) Copenhaver, both of Goshen; 13 grandchildren, Rachel Bledsoe, Heather Griffith, Kyle Detwiler, Stacey Gautsche, Julia Lambright, Adam Hein, Kari Cooper, Kati Adkins, Kristi Copenhaver, Laura Cecil, Miriam, Teresa Agnes and Thaddeus Copenhaver; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sister Beatrice Haines of Huntington.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Rassi and Sister Monica Haines; and a brother, Samuel J. Haines, Jr.
Mrs. Copenhaver was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society. Theresa was a 1952 graduate of Goshen High School. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. Mrs. Copenhaver also worked for M.M.A., now known as Everence, for 17 years before retiring.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 6:30 p.m. Rosary will be held.
There will also be a half an hour of visitation prior to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Father Logan Parrish will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
