Thelma Maxine Mishler

Thelma Maxine “Becky” Mishler, 77, of Elkhart, died on Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been admitted on Wednesday. November 18, 2009.  She was born to Merrell and Martha (Overholser) Bachtel on March 12, 1932, in Mishawaka, Indiana.  She married Charles Royce on December 30, 1950, and they later divorced.  She then married Gene R. Mishler on August 27, 1955, in Goshen.  He died on July 18, 1995.  Thelma was a resident of this community most of her life and graduated from New Paris High School in 1950.  She was a member of the Goshen VFW Auxiliary Chapter 985.  She is survived by one daughter, Ronda (Donald) Watt of Okeechobee, Florida; one son, David (Lois) Royce of Goshen; two grandchildren, Megan Royce of Goshen and Vanessa Watt of Okeechobee, Florida; and one brother, Homer (Mabel) Bachtel of Syracuse, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Bachtel.  At Thelma’s “Becky’s” request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Cremation will take place.  A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, 1721 South Main Street, Goshen, Indiana  46526.
