Thelma Irene Bechtold Syndram

Thelma Irene Bechtold Syndram, 99, of Goshen, passed away Saturday evening, June 23, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare. She had been in declining health the past eight years. She was born July 26, 1912, in Goshen to the late Albert and Pearl (Immel) Overholt. She married Carl Franklin Syndram March 31, 1962. He died March 11, 1976. She is survived by a son, Ronald K. Bechtold of Champagne, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Bechtold of Middlebury; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia VanNuys of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay DeFord June 9, 2002; a son, Joel D. Bechtold February 5, 2012; five sisters, Madge Balyate, Mildred Martin, Winnie Ostram, Helen Hoover and Flossie Jones; and two brothers, Albert Jr. and Robert Overholt. A homemaker, Mrs. Snydram enjoyed doing embroidery work and traveling. Friends may call 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Pastors Gregg Lanzen and Jim Shrock of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of Goshen.
