He was born July 5, 1940 in Ludlow Falls, Ohio to George and Lois (Pfeiffer) Thompson.
On September 5, 1965 he married Martha “Marti” Stauffer in Osceola.
She survives along with a daughter, Beth Ann Thompson of Elkhart; a son, Rick (Amy) Thompson of Baltimore, MD; three granddaughters, Megan, Lauren and Xandra; a brother, James (Mary) Thompson of Bradenton, Florida; a sister, Joy (Bill) Sauder of Churubusco; and two sisters-in-law, Janine Katona of Forest Park, IL and Roma Jo Thompson of Bridgewater, VA.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joel and R.Jan Thompson.
A Milford resident since 1972, Terry worked for Cardinal Services, Warsaw for 12 years and Walmart for 17 years.
He was an active member of the Milford First Brethren Church. His hobby was his interest in Fire Department equipment. He was a volunteer firefighter for most of his life serving on departments in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, Shipshewana, Milford and also New Windsor, Maryland.
Terry also served as a Scout Master for Troop #747 in Milford.
Friends may call Monday, August 22, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Pastor Lee Compson, Milford First Brethren Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Ohio at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Camp Mack, Heifer International or the Milford Fire Department.
