Goshen – On Sunday morning, January 29 at 8:55 in the morning Terry Lee Benn, 76, took his final breath and went to his reward, passing peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He is now healed and whole and has rejoined his beautiful wife of 53 years, the love of his life Ginny.
He was born March 31, 1946 in Kankakee, Illinois.
On April 3, 1965 he married Virginia L. Hamm in Elkhart.
Terry is survived by three sons, William (Lynette) Benn, Portage, Michigan, Terry A. (Angie) Benn, Three Rivers, Michigan and Lawrence H. (Kim) Benn, Goshen; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Regina (Paul) Miller, Bristol and Karen (Dick) Moreland, Bourbonnais, Illinois and a brother Eddie (Joyce) Hudson, Bourbonnais, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, Lawrence H. Benn and Margie V. (Wilkins) Mann.
He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Elkhart. He loved and served the Lord and will now live in His presence forevermore.
Terry’s working career included 15 years as a shipping supervisor for LUX, a division of Coachmen RV. He was fun and loved kids, especially his grandchildren. They brought him so much joy. He enjoyed fishing, was kind hearted and was everyone’s friend; telling jokes all the time.
A visitation will be Saturday, February 4 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Whidden from Calvary Assembly will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
