Terry M Bender

Terry M. Bender, 77, of New Paris, died August 7, 2017 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born Dec. 11, 1939 in Goshen to Carl and Mary Carol (Miller) Bender.

On May 11, 1958 he married Delores Heckaman in Nappanee.

She survives along with daughter, Tamra (Rick) Rink, New Paris; son, Joel (Melanie) Bender, Culver City, California; grandson, Stephen (Kristin) Riley; step-granddaughter, Misty Rink; sister, Kathleen Stutzman, Syracuse; and brothers, Dennis (Judy) Bender, Winona Lake and Richard (Connie) Bender, Wolcottville.

He was a lifetime area resident and owned and operated several businesses, Bender’s Grocery Stores in Bourbon, Millersburg and New Paris and restaurants, Old Time Pizza and Land Mark Bar in New Paris.

He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and V.F.W. where he played cards. He enjoyed auctions and garage sales.

Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 10, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Lenny Krebs will officiate.

Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
