Rev. Ted Eash, 72, passed away early Friday morning, May 1, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born to Levi and Violet (Whirledge) Eash Mehl in Topeka, Indiana, on December 10, 1936. He married Darlene Chupp in Topeka on June 8, 1957. His father preceded him in death while his mother and wife survive. Ted was a pastor and farmer. He pastored several churches over the years. He served at Burr Oak Mennonite in Rensselaer, Indiana, from 1966-1970; Bonneyville Mennonite in Bristol, Indiana, from 1970-1979; Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Middlebury, Indiana, from 1980-1987; Locust Grove Mennonite in Elkhart, Indiana, from 1988-1992; Forks Mennonite in Middlebury, Indiana, from 1995-1998; Belmont Neighborhood Fellowship in Elkhart, Indiana; and Olive Mennonite in Elkhart, Indiana, from 2006-2007. He was a member of Forks Mennonite Church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Christina (James) Bromley and Wendy Eash both of Bristol, Indiana; three sons, Brent (Heidi) Eash, Mark (Kathy) Eash, and Tim (Malinda) Eash all of Bristol, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-children; one sister, Janet (Larry) Dunithan of Shipshewana, Indiana; two brothers, Gerald Eash of Howe,Indiana, and Tom (Cathy) Eash of Topeka, Indiana; and three step-sisters, Norma Dunlap of Ligonier, Indiana, Darlene (Jim) Sprunger of Florida, and Linda (Richard) Johnson of LaGrange, Indiana. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2009, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Forks Mennonite Church, 11435 West-025-South, Middlebury, Indiana. An 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009, memorial service will be conducted at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 West U.S. 20, Shipshewana, Indiana, with Rev. Eldon Stoltzfus of Forks Mennonite Church, and Rev. Phil Yoder and Rev. Eugene Bontrager, former pastors of Forks Mennonite Church officiating. A family graveside service will take place prior to the memorial service at Forest Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Mission Network or Forks Mennonite Church.
