Goshen — Tana Louise Penland, 82, of Goshen, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at her home under hospice care.
She was born on April 6, 1944, in Goshen, Indiana, to the late Roy R. Archer and Crissie Maxine (Vance) Archer.
Tana is survived by her children, Vicki J. (Chuck) Yoder of Middlebury and Eric D. (Tammy) Spicher of Goshen; her sister, Carolyn Boguicky of Goshen; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Spicher; two siblings, Marilyn Bray and Jon Archer.
Tana dedicated years of service to her community working in security roles, bringing diligence and care to her work. Deeply patriotic and dedicated to helping others, she was passionately involved in supporting military veterans. She gave generously of her time and heart as an active volunteer with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary, holding numerous leadership positions over the years and proudly serving as Past State Commander in 1982.
Beyond her public service and love for her family, Tana possessed a lifelong passion for horses, finding joy and peace in their grace and spirit.
Visitation will be from 12 until 1 p.m. memorial service on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
