T. Jay Graber, 81 of Goshen died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Courtyard Healthcare.
He was born April 14, 1934 in Howard County to Joel and Anna (Marner) Graber.
On June 6, 1953 he married Mary S. Kaufman in Howard County.
She survives along with a daughter, Doncella (Jeff) Sheline; two sons, Therman Jay, Jr. (Dana) Graber and Kevin Graber, all of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Nettro, Matt Sheline, Andrea (Benjamin) Baker, Jessica (Stephen) Jackson, Bryan Sheline, Justin (Kendra) Riehm and Ryan Graber; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Eva (John) Higgins of Sharpsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Luellen Troyer, and three brothers, Samuel, Joseph and H. Ray Graber.
Jay was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, and attended Grace Brethren Church when wintering in Brooksville, Florida. He was a bus driver for Middlebury and Goshen Community Schools for many years. He also worked as an installer at Hawkins Water Tech. before retirement.
He was a charter member of the Jefferson Fire Department and helped start the E.M.T. program. He enjoyed sports and visiting with people. He especially treasured time with family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 memorial service at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 58529 C.R. 23, Goshen. Pastors Tyler Hartford, Ron Diener and Norm Maust will officiate.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at a later date.
