Sylva R. Keenan

Sylva R. Keenan, 82, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at Goshen Hospital.

She was born April 6, 1939, in Goshen, to Merill E. and Evelyn L. (Lockwood) Prickett.

On July 2, 1960, she married Joseph T. Keenan in Miami, Florida.  He died August 31, 1998.

She is survived by a son, Jeffry (Ann) Keenan of Goshen; a stepson, Joseph T. (Susan) Keenan, Jr. of Sun River, Oregon; a stepdaughter, Karen Miller of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a brother, Charles Woods of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine Keenan and a sister, Corinne L. Jester.

An avid seamstress and quilter, Sylva also enjoyed reading and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Miami Dolphins.  She was a member of the Elkhart County 4-H Homemakers Extension Club.

She was a longtime member of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church.

Friends and family may gather Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Solomon Creek United Methodist Church, 15051 C.R 146, Syracuse, from 12 to 2 p.m. to celebrate the lives of both Sylva and her daughter, Kristine.

A graveside service will follow at Solomon Creek Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
