Suzanne R. Williams

Suzanne R. Williams, 89, died at 9:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 at her home at Waterford Crossing, Goshen.  She was born February 6, 1921 in Goshen, to Mervin S. and Ruth E. (Fiedeke) Rummel.  On November 15, 1947 she married David E. Williams, he died January 23, 2007. She was a lifetime resident of Goshen and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for 89 years where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  She especially enjoyed the Trinity Quilters and Trinity Mixers.  She was a former charter member of Maplecrest Country Club and always supported youth activities not only for her children but also her grandchildren             . Suzanne is survived by two daughters, Karen K. Defrees, Goshen, and Sharon K. (James) Helman, Traverse City, Mich., four grandchildren, Chad (Carah) Defrees, Scott (Amber) Defrees, Jennifer Helman and Emily (Curt) Wilson and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 11:30 a.m. service on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen.  Pastor John Hickey will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. James Helman, Suzanne’s son-in-law.  Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Second Chance Small Dog Rescue.
