Susie M. Kauffman, 93, of Goshen and formerly of Middlebury, died early Friday morning, August 19, 2016 at Greencroft Healthcare, where she had resided since 2011.
She was born February 11, 1923 in Kosciusko County to Eli D. and Barbara (Chupp) Hochstetler.
On September 6, 1942 she married Owen E. Kauffman in Elkhart. He died Sept. 30, 1995.
Survivors include three daughters, Anita M. Stalter of White Pigeon, Michigan, Geneva J. Miller and Raedene S. (Elva D.) Miller, both of Middlebury; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ellery Kauffman; six sisters, Barbara Miller, Clara Stutzman, Wilma Miller, Elizabeth Kertes and Ruby Stutzman; and a brother, Raymond Hochstetler.
Susie was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Middlebury and Goshen area. A member of the New Paris Missionary Church and a former member of the Jefferson Homemakers, she also volunteered at Greencroft delivering mail.
Friends may call Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 funeral service will be held. Pastor David Hackney of the New Paris Missionary Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.
