Steven R. Herr

Steven R. Herr, 66, of Goshen died Monday, December 18, 2023 at his home.

He was born May 8, 1957 in Elkhart to Lowell and Violet (Blosser) Herr.

On July 23, 1977 he married his high school sweetheart Rhonda Hochstetler in New Paris.

She survives along with three children, Keli (Alexandra) Herr, and Emily (Jacob) Hildenbrand, both of Goshen, and Chris (Amanda) Herr of Elkhart; six grandchildren, Colin Herr, Addison, Aaron and Austin Hildenbrand, and Brantley and Brynlie Herr; and two brothers, Ronald (Lavon) Herr of Topeka, and Richard (Michele) Herr of Goshen; and a sister in law, Adeline Herr.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Herr.

Steve retired in May 2022 from Utilimaster in Bristol. He loved his children and grandchildren. An avid train enthusiast, he and his grandchildren enjoyed “chasing” trains together.

He will be remembered as the life of the party. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. There will also be one hour of visitation beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, December 22, at Sugar Grove Church, 58512 Old C.R. 17, Goshen.

Burial will follow at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
