Stephen John Germani, 62, of Goshen, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born August 19, 1951 in Monroe, Michigan, to Robert and Josephine (Castellese) Germani. He married Teri Fortier March 23, 1974 in Monroe. She survives along with two sons, Jason (Sandi) Germani of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Stephen (Kiam) Germani of Goshen; his father, Robert of Monroe, Michigan; five grandchildren, Jack, Olivia, Evan, Kyle and Benjamin; three sisters, Carol (John) Calkins, Loretta Germani and Denise (Bert) Wilson; two brothers, Robert (Georgia) and Gerry; a half sister, Katherine Gilbert: and a half brother, Scott Germani. He was preceded in death by his mother. A Goshen resident since 1986, Stephen worked in dispatch at Horizon Transport. A member of St. John's he loved to play pool and was in several different leagues. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army 101 Airborne, earning the Bronze Star for valor. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 6 p.m. rosary will be held. A 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013, funeral mass will be conducted at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rev. Father Tony Steinacker will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to ADEC.
