Stephen A. Gay

Stephen A. Gay, 64, of Goshen, died unexpectedly Monday evening, October 12, 2009, in the emergency room at Goshen General Hospital. He was born in Goshen, on December 20, 1944, to the late John and Thelma (Eaton) Gay.  He married Michaela “Kelly” Albert on October 21, 1967, in Goshen.  She survives. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Gay attended Goshen High School and worked as a tool and die maker at Goshen Stamping.  He served with the US Navy off of the coast of Vietnam.  He was a member of the Goshen Moose, the DAV and the VFW. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Michele (David) Runge of Goshen, and Stephanie (Ed) Martinez of Nacogdoches, Texas; seven grandchildren and a brother, Raymond (Jan) Patterson of Mesa, Arizona. The body will be cremated and there will be a private family burial. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
