Stefanie (Antesberger) Kauffman, 85, of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2012, at her home after an extended illness. She was born October 12, 1926 in Salzburg, Austria to the late Ferdinand (Melanie) Antesberger and Rosamunde Adlmannseder. She married Merle R. Kauffman May 14, 1948 in Salzburg, Austria. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Gertrude "Trudy" Kauffman of Goshen and Stephanie "Darlene" Hill of Union, Michigan; a son, Bob Kauffman of Katy, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a half- brother, Horst (Annaliese) Antesberger of Salzburg, Austria; and a half-sister, Ulrika Rix-Gow of Adelaide, Australia. Stefanie was preceded by a son, Joe Kauffman; a grandson, Daniel Kauffman; a brother, Helmut Antesberger; and two half-sisters, Frances and Rosamunde. A homemaker, she worked at Chase Bag Company for a year, at Whitehall for two years, and 31 years at Miles Laboratory. A Rosary service will be held at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with visitation following from 6-8 pm. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, funeral mass will be conducted at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Father Chris Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral mass. Memorial contributions may be given to the Diabetes Association.
