Stanley Nichols, 63, of Goshen died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, May 2, 2016 at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born November 18, 1952 in Randolph, Vermont to Warren and Alice (Kinsman) Nichols.
On August 4, 1979 he married Maurita Martin in Goshen.
She survives along with their children, Janelle (Adam) Privett of Elkhart, Mindy (Joel) Comino, Troy (Nicole) Nichols, Josh, Amy, B.J., Travis and Trent Nichols, all of Goshen; siblings, Jane (Jon) Weaver of Osceola, Joel Nichols, and Priscilla (Jerry) McKelvey, both of Goshen, and Dawn (Tim) Garman of Granger; and nine nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ryan, a grandson, Isaac, and a sister, Luella Nichols.
A graduate of Goshen High School, he attended college at Oral Roberts University and received a degree in chemistry from Bethel College, Mishawaka. He continued his education with classes at Notre Dame.
He was a self-employed roofing contractor and local landlord. He was an active member of The Vineyard Church, Mishawaka. Stanley loved spending time with his family, traveling, being in nature, and was an avid reader.

Family and friends may call Friday, May 6, 2016 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen.
An 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 funeral service will take place at Grace Community Church, 20076 C.R. 36, Goshen. Pastor Mark Pope of The Vineyard Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
