Stanley Cobbum, 98, of Goshen, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 10, 2016 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing, with his family by his side.
He was born September 15, 1918 in LaGrange County to Amos W. and Della (Pence) Cobbum.
On June 3, 1950 he married Emma Yoder in Middlebury.
She survives along with a daughter, Helen Howard of Goshen; a son, Gary Yoder of Camden, West Virginia; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Joanne Cobbum of Elkhart.
Along with his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by three brothers, Clint, Clifford and Dale; and four sisters, Chloe, Madge, Altha and Winnie.
Stanley farmed in his early years before working as a mechanic and welder, retiring from the Goshen Street Department in 1982. He had many interests including reading Reminisce Magazine and the Bible; researching his genealogy; and John Deere tractors.
Together with his wife Emma they enjoyed riding motorcycles and wintering in Florida for 20 years.
Friends may call Thursday, Dec.ember 15, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A procession will follow the visitation going to Rice Cemetery, Elkhart, where a graveside service will take place at the cemetery’s Memories Mausoleum. Rev. Todd Prough will officiate.
