BRISTOL – Shirley J. Noble, 76, of 15345 State Road 120 died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at home. She had been a resident of Bristol since 1972. She married Jan A. Noble, Sr., who survives, on January 25, 1962 in Lakewood, Colorado. She is survived by a brother, Joseph (Mary) Jelinek and was preceded in death by a brother, James Jelinek and a sister, Dorothy “Dotty” Jelinek all of Missouri. Mrs. Noble is survived by two sons, Stanley Ryder of Elkhart, and Jan A. (Anne) Noble, Jr. of Bristol; two daughters, LeAnn Ryder (Ira) Zinman of Bloomington, and Kryston (Rob) Hartzler of White Pigeon, Michigan; three step-daughters, Brenda Noble of Lakewood, Colorado, Marcie (Noble) Chambers of Louisville, Colorado, and Kimberley (Noble) Johnson of Bristol; seventeen grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborrah (Ryder) Simon and a step-granddaughter. She was a strong family person and was active in the community. She was one of the founders of Addictions Recovery Programs of Indiana, Inc., a long time active member of Alanon helping many friends and family members in recovery from addictions. She was highly supportive of the activities of her children and grandchildren. She had a wide range of interests including traveling, road trips, reading, collecting owls, cooking, visiting casinos, art and bowling. She graduated from Richmond, Missouri high school and attended colleges thru the junior level. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 6:30 p.m. funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp funeral home Wednesday, February 25, 2009 with Bruce Giggy, licensed minister, of Bristol United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, Indiana at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be given to local Alzheimer’s Association or the Thelma Schrock Homestead.
