Shirley A. Kauffman, 76, of Goshen, passed away early Monday morning, January 5, 2015, at IU Health Goshen Hospital after battling progressive cancer. She was born October 20, 1938 in Allen County, Ohio to Fred and Mary (Heatwole) Stalter. On August 10, 1963 she married Merrill J. Kauffman in Elida, Ohio. He died January 8, 2010. Survivors include a daughter, Joy (Randy) Detweiler of Wakarusa; two sons, Kent (Carole) Kauffman of Fairview, Michigan and Steve (Lisa) Kauffman of Harleysville, Pennsylvania;five grandchildren Kayci and Micah Detweiler and Brianna, Janae and Bryce Kauffman; two step-grandchildren, Dominick Dilks and Jake Butler; three sisters, Carolyn (Raymond) Beggs, and Janice (Morris) Roth, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dorothy (Mel) Troyer, Monument, Colorado; and a brother, James (ChloAnn) Stalter of Goshen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A Goshen resident since 1996, Shirley was a sales consultant and decorator at Snyder Paints. Shirley enjoyed hosting and visiting with her family and friends. She was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where she served in the church library. Shirley had a passion for being outdoors and enjoyed flower gardening. Friends may call Friday, January 9, 2015 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church where an 11 a.m., funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 10. Pastors Terry Diener and Matt Yoder will officiate. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will be at a later date in Clinton Frame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for the library.
