Shirley I. Harvey, 69, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, from complication from heart surgery.
She was born February 25, 1947 in Goshen to Ray and Betty (Smith) Lambert.
On August 6, 1966 she married Larry W. Harvey in Nottowa, Michigan.
He survives along with two sons, Jeffrey S. (Carrie) Harvey and Tony R. (Ginger) Harvey, both of Goshen; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Fred (Sandra) Lambert of Elkhart and Wayne (Vendy) Lambert of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Robin and Lou Lambert.
A Goshen resident since 1958, she was known as “Mom Harvey” by many people. She worked on the production line at NIBCO and as a secretary at Larry Chupp Insurance Agency.
Shirley was a lifetime member of the D.A.V Auxiliary #15 and the Goshen Moose, Chapter 1047, where she served as an officer and earned the Academy of Friendship Award May 6, 1984, College of Regions Award June 21, 2014 and Star Recorder July 5, 2015. She was also a member the Eagles Auxiliary and had served as an officer.
Friends may call Sunday, May 1, 2016, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:30 p.m. funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2016.
Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Cystic Fibrosis Council, Elkhart or Moose Heart.
