Shirley J. Cripe

Shirley J. Cripe, 85, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.

She was born September 12, 1934 in Kosciusko County to DeWitt and Harriet (Kuhn) Disher.

On December 9, 1955 she married Robert Dean Cripe in Goshen.  He died January 14, 2005.

Survivors include a son, Patrick (Patti) Cripe of Bristol; daughter, Cathi (Patrick) Blaney of Naples, Florida; a granddaughter, Krystal Cripe; two step-granddaughters, Amy (Reid) Hanley and Betsy (Ryan Woods) Stamp and four step-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

A 1952 graduate of Syracuse High School, Mrs. Cripe worked in the Elkhart County Voter Registration office.  She enjoyed vacationing with Robert in Sebring, Florida.  Her hobbies included music – playing the piano and organ – reading and shopping.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and a private graveside service will be held in West Goshen Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Humane Society of Elkhart County.
