Shirley J. Butler

Shirley J. Butler, 77, of Goshen, passed away Tuesday evening, April 24, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born April 14, 1935 in Somerton, Ohio, to Farrell and Edith (Sullivan) Moore. She married Billy Joe Butler in 1952 in Texas. He died July 2011. She is survived by three daughters, Connie Craden of St. Louis, Missouri, Lynn (John) Howard of Goshen, and Lori (Paul) Cross of Silver Lake, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sheila Soucy of St. Louis, Missouri, and Marilyn Osborne of Westerville, Ohio; and a brother, Jerry (Carolyn) Moore of Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Sherrie Lynn Butler. A homemaker, Mrs. Butler had been in and out of the area since 1979. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and needlework. She adored her family. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Private services will be held. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
