Shirley Bowser                                                               Shirley Bowser, 70, of Goshen, died at her home Wednesday afternoon, August 16, 2006, after a lengthy illness.   She was born April 4, 1936 in Tower City, North Dakota, to Earl and Jessie (Japel) Kaut.  On July 14, 1957, in Goshen, she married Jack Bowser.  He survives.   A resident of Goshen since 1944, Mrs. Bowser graduated from Goshen High School in 1953 and from Manchester College in 1955 with an associate’s degree in Business.  She worked at Abshire Oil and MDK Corporation as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2000.  She had also worked for Jean Lee Originals.   An active member of the Plymouth United Church of Christ, Mrs. Bowser, was also a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the Bay View Literary Club and the Friends of the Goshen Public Library.   She is survived by her husband, Jack; a daughter, Cathy (Marty) Kenny of Middlebury, Indiana; and a son, Christopher (Meike) Bauser of Konstanz, Germany; two grandsons, Jake and Joshua Kenny; and a sister Bette (Dan) Keim of Goshen.   Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   An 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at the funeral home.  Rev. John VonLackum of the Plymouth United Church of Christ will officiate.   Memorial contributions may be given to the Plymouth United Church of Christ or Friends of the Goshen Public Library or Friends of MPD (Myeloproliferative Disorders).
