Sharon S. Tucker

Sharon S. Tucker, 57, of Elkhart, died Monday afternoon, May 15, 2006, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa where she had been a patient since December 16, 2005.   She was born in Chambersburg, Illinois, to the late Raymond Secrist and Anna (Planson) Vest.    A lifelong resident of the ElkhartCounty, Ms. Tucker worked as an inspector for Bayer, Inc. in Elkhart, and previously for ESI Meats, Bristol.  She was a former member of the Goshen Moose and bowled at Oakland Lanes, Elkhart.   She enjoyed shopping on QVC.   She is survived by her mother, Anna Vest of Elkhart; two daughters, Lori (Dave) Ward of Elkhart and Kristina (Eric) Sigler of Goshen; a son, Rodney Porter of Elkhart; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.  Also surviving are two sisters, Janie (Kevin) Wilson of Statesville, North Carolina and Barbara (Buddy) Berry of Elkhart; and three brothers, Joseph Secrist of Manchester, Kentucky, Robert Secrist of North Webster, Indiana and Charles Vest of Goshen.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, funeral will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Robert Schallhorn of TrinityLutheranChurch, Elkhart, and Rev. James Pettit of FirstBaptistChurch, Elkhart, will officiate.   Burial will be in Chapel HillMemorialGardens, Osceola.   Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care of Elkhart.
