Sharon Rose Randolph, 83, of Goshen and formerly of Floyds Knobs, died Monday, December 12, 2022, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.
She was born December 9, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky.
On May 8, 1959 she married R. Merle Randolph in New Albany. They were married 59 years. In 2014 Merle and Sharon were in a car accident that led to their move to Greencroft. He died November 25, 2018 after 3 years in Goshen Hospice.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Kinsey of Elkhart; a son, Michael (Caroline) Randolph of Mesa, Arizona; and many nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie L. (Byrne) Staton, father, Hershel A. Staton, and a sister, Rita Jean Scott.
Sharon worked as a registered nurse, receiving her nursing degree in 1960 from the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital School of Nursing, Independence, Missouri. She was a member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Floyds Knobs, where she and Merle lived before moving to Goshen in 2014. She had a beautiful singing voice and often sang solos at church. She was a skilled painter and Merle was a woodworker. Together they led classes to help others learn crafts.
Celebration of Life gatherings will be held at Greencroft and at the Remnant Church at a later date.
Burial will be at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
