Sharon Elaine (Weaver) Petgen, 75, of Goshen, passed away Thursday morning, February 25, 2016, at her home from cancer.
She was born December 24, 1940 near Wakarusa to Elmer L. and Hazel (Loucks) Weaver.
On October 13, 1962 she married John N. Petgen in Goshen.
He survives along with their children, Michele R. (Todd) Condon of Jonestown, Pennsylvania, Ryan T. (Teresa) Petgen of Atwood and Carmen J. (Brad) Sheaffer of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her mother, Hazel Weaver of Goshen; and a sister, Carol (Dan) Miles of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1997 and an infant sister in 1939.
Sharon graduated with the class of 1959 at Wakarusa High School. She worked at First National Bank of Elkhart, Greencroft Nursing Center and was church secretary at Grace Bible Church, Elkhart. Her husband pastored several churches for 25 years where she was involved in various ministries.
A current member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, she enjoyed scrapbooking pictures and articles, reading and playing the piano.
A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Family will receive friends Monday, February 29, 2016 from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service at First Baptist Church, Goshen. Rev. Dr. Gregg Lanzen will officiate.
