She was born June 12, 1957 in Taegu, South Korea and was adopted by Donald L. and Elizabeth (Sawatzky) Klippenstein.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth of Goshen; and two brothers, Dr. Donald (Linda) Klippenstein of Lutz, Florida and Michael (Robin) Klippenstein of Edina, Minnesota.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Klippenstein.
Shari attended Winona State University, Minnesota and worked in student housing, as assistant director, at Idaho State University. She also worked in Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and Maine specializing in student support. She also earned a master’s degree.
She attended Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen. She played the violin in high school and college and continued her love of music, learning to play the guitar and write music.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, 602 S. 8th Street, Goshen. Pastors Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau and Julia Gingrich will officiate.
Burial will take place in Minnesota at Lakewood Cemetery, at later date.
