Seth S. Miller

Seth S. Miller, 77, of Goshen, died Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Valley View Health Care, Elkhart. He was born May 2, 1934 in Goshen to the late Sam and Lydia (Troyer) Miller. He married Patricia Belt on June 12, 1959 at First Baptist Church, Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Ruth D. (Jonathan) Hellwege of Mishawaka, and Abigail J. (Bradley) Kelly, of Banquo; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Lydia Mae Schwartz of Michigan, Amanda Stutzman of North Carolina, Lillie Bontrager of LaGrange, and Arlene Mast of Topeka; and a brother, Samuel Miller of Elkhart. He was precedede in death by a son, Stewart H. Miller; five sisters, Marie Mullett, Sarah Chupp Helmuth, Rosa Lambright, Ella Chupp and Ruby Hochstetler; two brothers, Toba and Lester Miller; and son-in-law, Gregory Hammer. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa and the Goshen-Elkhart Postal Union. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, 1956-58, as a water specialist in Germany and France. A mail carrier for U.S. Postal Service, he retired after 32 years. He then worked as a security guard for Employer's Security. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 31 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. A 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa, with Pastors David Harper and Brooks Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa.
