Saway Kounlaphavong

Saway Kounlaphavong, 73, of Goshen, died at home Wednesday afternoon, october 17, 2012, after battling cancer for a year. He was born November 19, 1938, in Laos to Khamlay & Damby Kounlaphavong. He married Duangphy Insisiengmay, March 10, 1966, in Laos. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Inpone Kounlaphavong, Goshen, and a grandson. In May 1984 the family moved to Goshen as refugees from Laos. They were sponsored by Goshen City Church of the Brethren. He worked many years at Goshen Sash and Door, and was a member of the Buddhist Temple, Goshen. Friends may call from noon until 3:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2012, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Buddhist monks will officiate. Cremation at Yoder-Culp Crematory will follow the service.
