Sarah E. Yoder, age 96, died December 13, 2024 in Toto, North Judson, Indiana at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Paul and Kathleen Newcomer.
She was born October 24, 1928 to Eli J. and Anna (Christner) Troyer in LaGrange County.
On December 4, 1949 she married Henry B. Yoder in Fairview, Michigan. He preceded her in death June 30, 2013.
She was a member of Salem Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. She also taught school at Clinton Christian and Woodlawn school from 1975-1990. She thoroughly enjoyed those days and her students.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Newcomer of Toto, North Judson, Sarie (Ken) Miller of New Paris; a son Carl (Marcie) Yoder of Argyle, Texas; a son-in-law Ken (Beve) Sutter of Clarksville, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; five brothers Felty, Joseph, John, Samuel, and Jacob Troyer, and three sisters Annie Yoder, Lena Hochstetler, and Ella Bontrager.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lou Sutter; three great-grandsons, Ryder Sutter, Zak and Jack Newcomer; one brother, Daniel Troyer; four sisters, Elizabeth Schwartz, Mary Troyer, Susie Kuhns, and an infant sister.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen and for one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, December 18 at Salem Mennonite Church. Pastors Terrill Yoder and Arlo Schmidt from Toto Mennonite Church will officiate.
Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery.
