Sarah Virginia Sanders

Sarah V. Sanders, 94, of Goshen, died Thursday night, June 5, 2008, at The Courtyard.  She had been ill since September 2007. She was born April 22, 1914, in Speichersville, Indiana, to John F. and Leela M. (Hullinger) Murphy.  She married Leon A. Drummond in 1935 in Elkhart.  He died May 27, 1963.  In 1969 she married Frank Sanders in Goshen.  He died February 22, 1987. A 1932 graduate of Leesburg High School, Mrs. Sanders worked as a sales clerk at the former Klines Department Store in Goshen. She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Troy) Dabney of Goshen; two sons, Thomas E. (Marilyn) Drummond of Goshen and John L. (Linda) Drummond of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred E. Harris of Battle Creek, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husbands; a daughter, Patricia S. Schnell in 2002; and three brothers, Kenneth, Paul and Donald Murphy. Friends may call 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 9, at the funeral home. An 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. John Rauch of Grace Community Church, Goshen will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
