Sarah E. Roeder, 82, of Goshen passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born May 18, 1942 in Goshen to Maurice Austin and Kathryn Virginia (Leek) Petgen, the fourth of six children.

Sarah married Herman” Tiny” Roeder in July of 1968.

He preceded her in death along with her parents; longtime special friend, Donald Matthews; and two brothers, David (Joan) and John (Sharon) Petgen.

Survivors include three sons, Robert (Sarah) Roeder of Goshen, Steven (Susana) Roeder of San Antonio, Texas and James (Vicki) Roeder of Syracuse; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three siblings, Mary Stringham, Hilliard, Ohio, Paul (Sue) Petgen, Osceola and Lydia (Royer) Allman, Goshen.

Sarah enjoyed nature and was a competitive Euchre player. She treasured time spent in Germany, and her trip to Sicily with Don. She enjoyed music with Gospel and Country being favorites. Sarah was a longtime employee and retired from Goshen Rubber Co.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
