Sarah Catherine "Cathi" Lacounte

Sarah  Catherine "Cathi" LaCounte, 69, passed away late Friday night, May 29, 2009, at her home in Goshen after an extended illness. She was born to Horatio and Hazel (Karst) Nichols on April 22, 1940, in Lowell, Indiana.  She married Earl LaCounte on June 19, 1965, in Elkhart, Indiana.  He survives while her parents preceded her in death. A 45 years resident of the area, Sarah was a homemaker and operations manager for the Snap-on-Tools Dealership.  She was a member of Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church, both of Goshen.  She enjoyed lake activities, traveling, gardening, and cooking.  She earned her PHT (Putting Hubby Through) degree from Indiana University.  She is survived by her husband; one son, Marc (Lori) LaCounte of Goshen; two grandsons, Jacob and Brendan; one sister, JoAnne (James) Page of North Carolina; and one brother, Russ (Barbara) Nichols of California. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6:30-8:30 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Ed and Brenda Fritz of the First United Methodist Church of Goshen officiating.  Burial will be at Little Pine Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made out to Indiana University Medical Center- Transplant Department, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or First United Methodist Church of Goshen.
