Sara Ann Olsen, 63, of Goshen, died unexpectedly Monday morning, March 15, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital Emergency Room. She had been in failing health the past 15 years. She was born in Peru, Indiana, on October 23, 1946, to the late Orville A. and Audrey E. (Sonafrank) Woodhouse. She married Philip E. Tate on May 3, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. He died October 5, 1997. On November 28, 1997, she married Robert W. Olsen in Milford. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Stacy Smith, Decatur, Michigan, and Johnathan (Erin) Smith, South Bend; two step-sons, John M. Dickey, Elkhart and Ronnie Olsen, Delavan, Wisconsin; four step-daughters, Tamyra (Jay) Killian, Elkhart, Ronda (Joe) Skozen, Darien, Wisconsin, Robin (Mark) Neesen, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Bobbie (Mark) Ray, Goshen; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tom (Pam) Woodhouse, Peru, and Steve (Eula) Woodhouse, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis K. Pauley in 2005. A Goshen resident since 1959, Mrs. Olsen worked at the former Johnson Controls and privately cared for terminally ill as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was very involved in crafts and gardening. She loved being a grandma. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Friday, funeral service will be conducted. Randy Webb, brother-in-law and Brian Whidden of Calvary Assembly of God, Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
