Sanford Christophel, 87, of Goshen died Friday, December 15, 2023 at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born July 18, 1936 at home in Clarksville, Michigan to Harold and Ruth (Kauffman) Christophel. They preceded him in death.
On August 7, 1960 he married Miriam Burkholder.
She survives along with three children, Karen (David) Hostetler of Goshen, Douglas (Kristine) Christophel of Bridgewater, Virginia, and Daniel Christophel of Grantsville, Maryland; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Other survivors include his six siblings, Robert (Lorraine) Christophel of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Eldon Christophel of Battle Creek, Michigan, David (Carol) Christophel of Zealand, Michigan, H. Levon Christophel of Sarasota, Florida, Joseph (Linda) Christophel of Goshen, and Paul (Brenda) Christophel of Hesston, Kansas.
Sanford was a generous and giving man with what he had. He worked in agricultural farming and milking dairy cows. He was active in various local farming organizations.
He and Miriam supported many overseas missions. He was active in the churches he attended.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, December 28 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service all at Siloam Fellowship, 61616 County Road 35, Goshen. Pastor Vern Hostetler will officiate.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
