Samuel Mishler

Samuel Mishler, 84, of Jensen Beach, Florida, died Saturday morning, August 19, 2006 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Florida.   He was born October 14, 1921 in Kosciusko County, Indiana, to John and Emma (Smucker) Mishler.  He married Betty Gannon on December 22, 1952.  She died December 31, 1979.  He then married Shirley (Davis) Yoder on November 21, 1997 at the First United Methodist Church, Goshen.  She survives.   A member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, Mr. Mishler drove truck and also worked as a warehouse supervisor.  A World War II Army engineer he served in Germany as a translator.   Mr. Mishler is survived by his wife, Shirley; three step-children, Sandy (James) Simpson of Stuart, Florida, Peggy (Randy) Carpenter of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Stanley (Valli) Yoder of Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Harvey (Leatha) Mishler and John Mishler, both of Goshen, Joe (Mary) Mishler of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Mose (Freda) Mishler of Seymour, Missouri.   He was preceded in death by his first wife; a brother, Dan Mishler; and three sisters, Mary Lambright, Elizabeth Mishler and Katie Maust.   Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 10:00 a.m. service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the funeral home.  Step-son, Rev. Stanley Yoder and Pastoral Assistant Pamela Kling of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen, will officiate.   Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.   Memorial contributions may be given to the Samuel Mishler family who will forward all gifts to missions.
