Samuel Troyer Jr., 73, of Goshen went to be with the Lord, Wednesday night July 29, 2015 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was born April 5, 1942 in Goshen to Samuel and Sarah (Yoder) Troyer. On August 8, 1964 he married Sharon K. Saal at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Goshen. She died December 23, 1999. He is survived by a daughter, Shelley (Scott) Virgil of Middlebury; a son, Scott (Nicole) Troyer of Goshen; five grandchildren, Seth, Lucas and Sarah Virgil, Tara (Derek) Blankinship and Cameron Troyer; a great-grandchild; a sister, Edith Herschberger of Goshen; and three brothers, Elroy (Alberta) Troyer, Ora (Mary) Troyer and Floyd (Joyce) Troyer, all of Goshen. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Steury and Ida Riegsecker and two brothers, Alvin and Howard Troyer. Sam served his 1W service in Denver and was a member of Jefferson Community Church. He worked as a Burger Dairy truck driver before founding Troyer Products in 1976. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Bristol United Methodist Church. Pastor Fred Stayton will officiate. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Focus on the Family, 8605 Explorer Dr., Colorado Springs, Co. 80920.
