Samara L. Butler

Samara L. Butler, 64, of Goshen, died at her home on Tuesday evening, October 5, 2010.  She had been ill for a year. She was born in Goshen on December 12, 1945, to the late Paul W. and Zadie C. (Shoup) Young.  She married James H. Butler on June 30, 1979, in Goshen.  He died August 6, 2002. Mrs. Butler lived in Goshen all of her life except for ten years in Florida where she worked at Hoosier Manor Motel in Bradenton.  She was a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge #1047 and an active MDA volunteer.  She enjoyed listening to country music. She is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie (Mitch) Miller of Goshen; seven sons, Martin (Nancy) Butler, Larry Leach Jr., James (Kimberly) Butler, Michael (Trinda) Leach, and Russell (Janet) Leach, all of Goshen, David (Tracey) Leach of Spencer, West Virginia, and Terry (Shelly) Schrock of Logansport; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Paul (Scharmaine) Young of Sarasota, Florida, Brad (Cindy) Young of Williamsburg, Missouri, and Ronald (Annie) Young of Greensburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Young. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 8, and 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. A 10 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Eldon Stoltzfus, Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Goshen Moose Lodge #1047.
