Sam A. Miller

Sam A. Miller, 93, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, October 7, 2008, at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born in Yoder, Kansas, on December 2, 1914, to Andy and Gertie (Miller) Miller.  He married Clara Yoder in Garnett, Kansas, in 1934.  She preceded him in death on October 20, 1995. Mr. Miller farmed in the 1950’s and worked in the RV and mobile home industry.  He was a member of the North Goshen Mennonite Church.  He read his Bible daily, enjoyed working and playing dominoes. He is survived by a daughter, Katie (Owen) Troyer, and a son, Marvin (Janet) Miller, both of Goshen; four grandchildren, Renee (Pablo) Gonzalez, Arlin (Cathy) Troyer, Marvin (Janet) Miller, Jr., and Angie (Chad) Konzen; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William Miller of Topeka, and Andy (Fannie) Miller, Jr. of Leon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 9, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at North Goshen Mennonite Church.  Pastors Dean Linsenmeyer and Tim Froese of North Goshen Mennonite Church, along with grandson, Rev. Arlin Troyer will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be designated to North Goshen Mennonite Church.
