Sam Arlin Mast, 80, died at his home Saturday evening, January 5, 2013. He was born October 30, 1932 in Kosciusko County to Marvin and Joy (George) Mast. He married Loretta Sink December 10, 1950 at the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Melanie Stump and Cindy (Kenton) Miller, both of Goshen; a son, Tobie (Marge) Mast of Goshen; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Linda (Don) Sheets of Wakarusa and Emma (Doug) Charles, Janet Wileman, Jolene (Bob) Franks and Margaret (Denny) Hahn, all of Goshen; and four brothers, George (Charlotte), K'Don (Wanda) and Tom (Patty) Mast, all of Goshen, and Terry (Merry) Mast of Ligonier. A great husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Mast enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing. He loved the outdoors. A lifelong area resident, he worked as a boat builder at Starcraft for 48 years. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Spyker, Jefferson Brethren Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Chad and Corey Stump, Rob Cole, Travis Miller, Lloyd Wileman and Jim Yoder. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scott Sink Memorial Fund at Jefferson Brethren Church.
