Saloma Albrecht, 96, of Leo and formerly of Sarasota, Florida, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
She was born October 6, 1920 in Woodburn to Victor and Katie (Hochstetler) Delagrange.
In the late 1940’s she married Kenneth Albrecht. He died April 22, 1997.
In the late 1950’s Saloma and Kenny moved to Florida and had a daughter, Karen, who died in 1984.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Bill (Karla) Minter of New Paris and their children, Christine and Ryan; a sister, Velma Albrecht of New Haven; a brother, Ray (Elma) Delagrange of Goshen; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A compassionate, strong willed and faithful woman, Saloma was known for her hospitality, good cooking, sewing and “keeper of the family news”.
Friends may call Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:30 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. Goshen College President Jim Brenneman will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
