Sally Anne Steffensen

Sally Anne Steffensen, 30, of Goshen, died unexpectedly following a long illness on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center- North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. She was born October 10, 1983 in Mason City, Iowa to DeRay and Karen (Eymann) Steffensen. Sally is survived by her parents, DeRay and Karen Steffensen of Goshen; a brother, John Steffensen of Goshen; grandmothers, Mavis Langerud of Forest City, Iowa and Clarine Steffensen of Lake Mills, Iowa; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, John Eymann and DeVere Steffensen; and an aunt, Nancy Monson. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, Iowa and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen, where she was a member. Sally attended school in Forest City until 1991 when the family moved to Goshen. In 2002 she graduated in the top 10 of her class from Goshen High School. She continued her education at Purdue University, where she was on the Dean's list and a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. After college Sally returned to Goshen and was active in volunteer work in the community and her church. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013 and one hour prior to the 1:30 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, all at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. Pastor John Hickey will officiate. Inurnment will be at West Goshen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Goshen Boys and Girls Club, Goshen Community Schools Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the many people who have cared for, supported, and loved Sally on this long journey.
