Sally H. Rozelle, 53, of Goshen, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she had been for two weeks, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sally was born September 28, 1956, in Evanston, Illinois, to Donald N. and Charleen (Welter) Hale.  Her family later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana.  In 1981, she married Michael R. Rozelle at Trinity Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne.  They moved to Goshen, Indiana, in 1982. Sally graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne in 1974.  She went to Indiana University, Bloomington, where she graduated in 1978 with her degree in education.  She received her master’s of education also from Indiana University. After moving to Goshen she taught at Waterford Elementary.  Sally took time off from teaching to raise her three daughters.  She then resumed teaching at Chamberlain Elementary, Goshen, teaching third grade. The Rozelle’s were members of First English Lutheran Church, Goshen.  Sally was also a member of the Goshen Tri Kappa Sorority and loved spending time in Michigan at Glen Lake.  Sally taught all who knew her many lessons with her courage and giving heart.  She had a passion for her children and for the kid’s she taught.  She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her parents of Fort Wayne; her husband; three daughters, Jenna Lynn and Courtney Megan Rozelle, both of Indianapolis, and Mackenzie Anne Rozelle of Goshen; a brother, Davis C. (Sheila) Hale of Traverse City, Michigan; and a sister, Mary (Joe) Mathieu of Fort Wayne.  Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the First English Lutheran Church, 405 South Fifth Street, Goshen.  The Reverend John Hickey will officiate.  The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society, 54687 County Road 19, Bristol, Indiana  46507.
