S. Milford Roupp, 82, of Goshen, died Monday evening, January 7, 2008, at his home.  He had been under hospice care since June 2007. He was born in Newton, Kansas, on July 3, 1925, to John and Lillie (Balmer) Roupp.  He married Roselena Ruth Willems on August 8, 1948 in Greensburg, Kansas.  She preceded him in death on June 15, 2005. Mr. Roupp, a resident of Goshen since September 2004, came from Hesston, Kansas where he had lived most of his life.  He was co-owner, along with his brother, Willard, of Hesston Concrete for 40 years.  He was a businessman and entrepreneur. A graduate of Hesston Academy and Hesston College he also attended Bethel College in Newton, Kansas, and Boulder University in Colorado.  He did CPS (Civilian Public Service) in Marlboro, New Jersey and Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He was a charter member of MDS (Mennonite Disaster Service), a supporter and pillar of the Mennonite Church and its outreach.  He was also a longtime supporter of Hesston College. Mr. Roupp was a member of the Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston, Kansas.  He was an advocate and benefactor to many in starting their own businesses and he sponsored many immigrant families.  He traveled extensively worldwide and to all 50 states in the US. He is survived by four daughters, Valerie Helser of Denver, Colorado, Sherry (Mark) Jordan of Goshen; Janelle (Steve) Diller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Patrice Dunbar of Kelowna, British Columbia; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth M. (Paul) Yutzy of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Elda L. (Adolf) Guhr of Newton, Kansas; a brother, Delbert B. (Joann) Roupp of Lakewood, Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Elda B. Roupp of Hesston, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Willard Roupp. Friends may call Thursday, January 10 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m., on Monday, January 14 at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston, Kansas. A 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp and a 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2008, funeral service will be held at the Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston. Mark Jordan, son-in-law and Nathaniel Jordan, grandson, will officiate at both services. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Hesston, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Disaster Services.
