S. DeAnna Hershey, 73, of Goshen, died early Saturday morning, June 11, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, after a four and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Greenville, Ohio, on March 10, 1938 to the late Ronald Earl Riffle and Evelyn Faye (Gorsuch) Hughes. She married Paul Bernard Hershey in November 1955 in Greenville. He preceded her in death in January 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Jeffrey) Hershey-Miller of Goshen; two sons, Mark Allen (Ruby) Hershey of Cookeville, Tenn. and Michael Paul Hershey of Goshen; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharron Kay Smith of Dayton, Ohio and Rhonda Gale Sarns of Placerville, California; and a sister-in-law, Marge Hughes of Greenville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Allen Hughes. A Goshen resident since 1996, Mrs. Hershey was a member of the Life Center, Goshen, and the Heartland Quilt Guild. She was a full time caregiver for her son, Michael. Her body will be cremated and A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Life Center with Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Life Center or to the Goshen Cancer Center. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
