Ruth E. Tully, 97, of North Manchester, died Friday evening, September 23, 2011, at Timbercrest, North Manchester. She was born May 3, 1914 in Wakarusa to the late T.G. and Nina (Metzler) Weaver. She married Robert W. Tully on May 3, 1936 in Wakarusa. He died June 12, 1981. She is survived by two sons, Richard (Carol) Tully of Westfield and Robert "Bud" C. Tully of North Manchester; two step-grandchildren, David Atwood of Carmel and Christopher (Heather) Atwood of Avon; and a brother, James C. (Sharon) Weaver of Deland, Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul M. Weaver and a sister, Fern Yoder. A 1931 graduate of Tippecanoe High School, she received an Associate Degree from Manchester College in 1934. She was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren. A homemaker, Mrs. Tully was a substitute teacher and helped her husband in camps and church. Friends may call 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 28, at the Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester. A 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, memorial service will be held at Timbercrest Chapel with Associate Pastor Karen Eberly of the Manchester Church of the Brethren officiating. A private family burial will take place in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Timbercrest Charitable Assistance Fund or Manchester Church of the Brethren.
