Ruth Jane Hoover

Ruth Jane Hoover, 94, of Goshen, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Shirley Riggs. She was born December 10, 1918 in Elkhart County to Dallas and Amanda (Hostetler) Cripe. On June 6, 1949 she married Jay Carlyle Hoover. He died in 1977. She is survived by three daughters; Patty Lyons of Indianapolis, Cynthia S. (Ray) Good of Elkhart, and Shirley A. (Charles) Riggs of Goshen; two sons, Carlos E.(Charlene) Hoover of Warsaw and Rex Delos (Linda) Hoover of Sturgis, MIichigan; a step-daughter, Peggy M. Brewer of Texarkana, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maude Niece of California. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Edward Oakes, Larry and Jack Heubner; and 11 sisters and brothers. A homemaker, Ruth had been a member of the Goshen Eagles and the Goshen DAV, Goshen Friends may call from 10 a.m., until the 12 noon service on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor David Cripe of New Hope Free Will Baptist will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
