Ruth Marie Hartzler

August 10, 1914 — March 23, 2007

Ruth Marie Hartzler, 92, of Brookston, Indiana, died Friday evening, March 23, 2007, in Twin Lakes Village of Monticello.  She had been a resident of the Lakeview Commons Assisted Living for seven years. She was born August 10, 1914 in Goshen, Indiana to the late Clarence F. and Dessie (Kime) Troyer.   On November 3, 1934, she married Dean B. Hartzler in Goshen.  He died July 20, 1984. A lifelong resident of Goshen until seven years ago, she attended Goshen High School.  Mrs. Hartzler, a homemaker, worked for several years at Goshen Die Cutting Service.  She was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren.  Ruth enjoyed flowers, antiques, collecting rocks and stones, crafts and finding seashells while in Florida Surviving are a son, Larry D. (Norine) Hartzler of Brookston, Indiana, and a sister, Delta Stroman of Goshen.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Michelle Bolin of West Lafayette, Indiana and Troy (Angie) Hartzler of Brookston; a great-grandson, Matthew Bolin; a nephew, Vernard (Victoria) Stroman of Goshen and a niece, Patricia (Ronald) Cooper of Bristol, Indiana. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston and also 12-2 p.m.,Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27, 2007.  Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds and Pastor Yvonne Riege of Goshen City Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials contributions may be made on her behalf to Lakeview Commons of Monticello.
